LIMITING STARTING CURRENT
Anlassdrossel
Starting chokes are inductive alternating current resistors that limit starting current of AC motors and 3-phase motors. They are actuated at start-up in the stator feed lines of the motor, they limit the start-up current to approximately 3x the value of the rated motor current and are bridged by a contactor after the motor starts up.
They are configured for temporary duty and are provided with taps if necessary for multi-stage starting.
ADVANTAGES OF STARTING CHOKES
In this process special inductors are connected in the motor feed line. The starting chokes prevent brief voltage dips or reduce system perturbations, particularly in weak systems.
